The actor/singer of any genre is required not only to have a developed singing voice but must also be able to characterise and act through singing. Key to this ability is an understanding of the substantial differences in technique  and practise that acting through singing requires. This course will identify those key differences and offer practical exercises to develop these skills. We will also identify the major emotional shifts in the music and lyric and look at which Voice Qualities best serve the song and the character.

The day will include:

•   Brief overview of the Voice Qualities

•   Making an impact - Key skills for actor/singers

•   Acting clues in music and lyrics

•   Choosing the right Voice Quality

•   Short master class

Suitable for: For newcomers as well as those with experience of the Estill Model; for teachers & performers, students & professionals, actors and singers
